Do you handle the deck permit?

Yes. Most decks above a certain height need a building permit and engineered drawings for snow load. We prepare the drawings, submit the permit, and coordinate inspections — it's part of the project, not something we hand back to you.

Composite or pressure-treated — which should I choose?

Pressure-treated costs less up front but needs staining and upkeep. Composite and PVC cost more initially but are low-maintenance and last longer. We'll lay out the trade-offs against your budget and how long you plan to stay.

Can you repair or resurface my existing deck?

Often, yes. If the framing and footings are sound, we can re-deck the surface and replace railings. If the structure is failing, we'll tell you straight whether a repair or a rebuild is the better spend.

Do you design the deck, or do I need my own drawings?

We design it. With an architectural design background, we can work out the layout and produce 3D visualizations so you can see the space before we build, plus the engineered drawings the permit needs.

We ask a few questions about the house and the job. If it's something we do, we book a visit.

The visit
We measure, look at samples with you, and talk through the options that make sense for your house.

A written proposal
A fixed price with the scope spelled out, usually within a couple of days. Read it on your own time. If you want to go ahead, you tell us. We don't chase.

The work, and a check-in after
We schedule the install, do the work, and walk it with you at the end. We come back in the first year to check on it.
